Crystal Ward, LMFT
I have been providing therapy for 10 years. Before joining Folsom Psychiatry Associates, I worked at a large non-profit in Sacramento serving foster children and their families as well as working with Juvenile Probation. I enjoyed this work immensely and bring with me a range of experience working with youth and families of many cultural and economic backgrounds. I have extensive experience in working with PTSD in children, teens, and adults. My philosophy of therapy is centered around the idea that people are built for relationship and that unconditional, radical acceptance is necessary for healing. I sue a Psychodynamic approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Focused CBT. I have many years of experience working with Women’s issues in both group and individual settings. I am excited to bring my skills and expertise to Folsom Psychiatry Associates and eager to join your journey of healing.
Sharm Sprague, LMFT, RN
Hello. My name is Sharm Sprague LMFT, RN. Working with the mentally ill has been my life for the last 20 years, whether in a hospital setting, outpatient clinic or private practice. I feel it is a privilege to work in this field. My passion is traveling, Istanbul being my favorite site. I love to swim, garden, collect interesting stones and geodes, and read. My 27-year-old son is a constant joy in my life. I am thankful all my experiences which help me understand others.
Catherine Tucker, LMFT
I was born on Long Island, New York into an Italian family, on an Italian block of many Italian blocks. Life was culturally rich…and loud. I am one of 9 children. Just before 17, our family moved to California which was a culture shock. However, this change brought new, wonderful experiences and challenges into my life.
I have 3 grown children and 5 granddaughters. They are the ‘cat’s meow’! I absolutely love the outdoors, backpacking, cold mountain lakes, ocean and listening to the sound of morning. Additionally, I play the guitar (poorly), sing, read and am passionate about intensive organic gardening. I have a cat named Neeko who will only drink filtered water.
I attended National University in Sacramento for my BA in Behavioral Science and graduated National in 1996 with my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. I love my work.

In his leisure time, Timothy enjoys reading and listening to music, as well as spending time with friends either over a good meal or a fine cup of coffee.
James Marrelli, LMFT
Hi, I am James and I love working with adults and young adults’ one on one in order to help them shape or re-shape their lives while raising the quality of their day to day experience. Since you are reading this I want you to understand that an effective Therapist is really about a number of things: life experiences, expertise, patience, an open mind, compassion as well as a person who can help you make clear and concise goals. My job is to listen and learn from you about what you would like to change in your life. Then we meet together to come up with ways for you to move away from suffering and into a more peaceful place in your life. One of my favorite sayings is:
Whatever you believe that you can do; begin it! (Goethe)
That is a really hard thing to do when you are feeling depressed, anxious, maybe overwhelmed with panic attacks, ADHD, PTSD or other debilitating issues. I hear you and with the help of our medical staff for medication support and therapy to help support you and work with you to find ways through these overwhelming feelings, we will help you begin a new chapter in your life!
In terms of experience, I bring to your sessions over 40 years of living life along with its ups and downs. I worked as an Entrepreneur for about half of my career starting up and managing a couple of companies. Then I fell flat on my face and had to re-group and used Therapy as a means to re-craft my life and start a new chapter. It worked! Then I started a corporate career where I worked in creating new products and developing new business as well as consulting and even doing some advocacy work in Washington DC. Long story short, I can pull on a lot of life and work experiences to help you along your path while my training as a Therapist has given me the roadmap and structure to meet you wherever you are and get you the support that you need.
My education is also varied; a Bachelor’s Degree from Syracuse University a long time ago, then an MBA from Harvard which was pretty cool and scary and then another Master’s degree in Counseling. I am licensed in California as an LMFT #53141
I look forward to meeting you!
